Good and bad depending

January 9, 2022
I’ve had good experiences and bad experiences most are good with someone friendly on the other end who can listen to me and support me others I don’t feel like I always get listened to or advice given. But have the same issue every time of a long wait time i can be waiting as number 1 or 2 for at least an hour and still not get through so 8/10 I end up giving up this is not helpful for someone in a crisis with suicidal urges

It can be a helpful experience

I’ve had some good experiences some bad very much depends on how much the person who answers listens to how you feel and what response they give. The call wait times do need improving 8/10 I’m waiting in a queue and can still be number 4 in the queue after waiting for an hour so most times end up hanging up and never managing to get through to anyone which isn’t helpful when you really need to speak to someone about distressing thoughts.

Takes way, way too long to get through.

Took really long to get though to them, like almost an hour. When someone is in a crisis this is unacceptable.

Not helpful

Only called once, on behalf of a family member. I kept being interrupted while trying to give info, and they kept predicting what I was about to say next. I was told to call this number for help and support and as a route to assessment by my GP, but the person on the end of the phone said they don’t know why the GP said that and they don’t assess anyone. I felt like a nuisance. God knows what care and support my family member would have got if they’d called in themselves!

Mixed bag

I've called this service three times now. The first time they were good, the second time- pretty rubbish, but this third time was amazing. I'm so annoyed with myself that in my distress I forgot the ladies name. She made me feel valued and understood and didn't rush me. Honestly such a hero. Thank you to that lady for really catching me.
