Original feedback for

Barrow Pharmacy

Rudeness of dispensary staff

I repeatedly experience rudeness from the dispensary staff at Barrow and just let it go. This time, however, I needed to collect a prescription. I checked the website for opening times and it said that it was closed between 2 - 2.30. I drove several miles out to Barrow at 1pm, only to find that the lunchtime closure was extended. I returned to the dispensary at about 3pm. I collected a prescription and ordered another, but was told "there's no way you will get it until next week now. Tuesday or Wednesday" I asked if they were open on [a specific date] "Don't know. We have staff shortages. If you need to come then, I suggest you come in the morning". There was a poster about staff shortages, but I did suggest that they needed to update their website due to my wasted journey earlier "We don't need to do anything. It is exceptional circumstances." No apology for the wasted journey. No acknowledgement that it maybe a useful idea to keep the website up to date (just say that the opening times were erratic at present). I am a nurse and have recently been reading about the NHS plans etc and how it is all now patient and needs led, rather than service led. I don't think so. If I spoke to my patients in the manner of the person in the dispensary today, I would expect to lose my job. re the stars below. I don't want to give any stars for staff attitude or quality of care, but it will not give me that option.
