Actual vaccination process was well run
My father received his NHS vaccination letter in the post so I went online initially to book an appointment but living in the north of Suffolk the nearest option was the centre of Ipswich. Knowing that there was a vaccination centre in the next village I called the call centre but they too only offered the same locations. Knowing my father would not travel to Ipswich the call centre staff said that I could call back and see if a more convenient location was available. That evening my father said another letter had arrived, this time from the GP Federation and we could book his appointment through that system. We got an appointment for the next day at the local centre and have the second date booked too. The only difficulty was the booking system. Initially getting on the website was slow but this is understandable with the number of people accessing it but whether it was because I was booking on my phone, selecting my fathers date of birth was very frustrating as I had to go back from today's date back to 1946 month by month as I was unable to type in the date. After getting back to to the correct decade it then crashed or didn't accept the date four times. It may have been an issue due to my phone but it doesn't appear to be a mobile friendly system. If this could be improved it would've been a brilliant process.
