Right to Respond

Healthwatch is committed to providing a transparent and honest view of health and social care services. This is your opportunity as the health or social care provider to have your say on comments the public have left. It is designed to be constructive and allow both sides to have a fair and equal say in the matter so please:

  • Keep the language and tone civil
  • Don't mention personal details
  • Make it relevant to the review

Remember, your response will be seen by everyone who reads your organisation's comments, not just the original reviewer. Your reply is a good opportunity to acknowledge any comments received.

Felixstowe Community Hospital

Need improved awareness of service

Having to ring 111 at evenings, weekends, bank holidays is a problem. a: people ringing are asked a series of questions which in many cases, as probably only a minor injury, is not required. b: 111 operators are not aware of the MIU (now called MIC) in Felixstowe, it's not on their list, so they send patients to Ipswich or Colchester adding to A&E demand. c: if patients were allowed to ring the MIU direct, staff there are more qualified to check details than 111 operator! This idea was rejected by the GP federation.
