Wait to see someone is too long

I have had a very painful finger and I felt that I needed to see a GP, the soonest that I could get an appointment when I phoned was in one month's time, its just too long. The GP is lovely but you do have to wait a long time on the phone to get through. I can only imagine that they must be over engulfed with too many patients.
