Understanding my GP

Normally I visit the surgery to get an emergency appointment in case they ask me questions I cannot understand. The last time I went I took my young daughter who had tummy ache. She was a bit shy because the doctor was male. Next time I will ask for a female if it is a similar issue. I do get a female GP if I ask. As my english improves I find it easier to understand the GP's. Now I don't use language line, if I have a problem understanding I use the dictionary on my phone.
