Hawthorn Drive Surgery

Diabetic foot problem which was misdiagnosed

Being diabetic type 2 and having a hospital stay 2yrs a ago for serious foot infection on discharge from my stay it was drummed into me then and follow up visits I had at foot clinic I am high risk any sign of any infection seek immediate help So Thursday went I got out of my shower I noticed one of my toenails was loose and the toe looked red. So phoned chantry clinic bet they had not any appointments but said the person who normally deal with my feet is working from home and will phone me which he did and ask for some photos which I sent to him he phoned me back and told me to speak to my GP cause he said it looks like an infection and as I am high risk I needed an antibiotic. Which what done GP asked for photos so I sent the same 3 photos she came back and disagreed with what he said and told me to soak it in salt water. Which I wasn’t happy about . So phone my foot man back and he arranged a home visit on Friday when the nurse turned up she took a look at the toe and took the nail off then said I am going to contact your GP cause you need a course of antibiotics you have an infection. I don’t like complaining cause the surgery who I have been with nearly all my life have always been there for me. But it could have turned out to be more serious especially with me being diabetic
