Rheumatology
It took about 8 months to get the initial appointment for an ongoing illness, this was the only time that i got to see the Rheumatologist. I had multiple follow up appointments moved due to staff sickness which resulted in very long waits of several months between appointments to see the nurse practioner, which is a far too long when you are trying to find medication that will work. I only got the results of my last MRI scan through to a letter from the Rheumatologist, with a promise of an appointment to discuss it, which never happened. I never had any of the other tests results. I was sent a letter 6 months after the last scan with an appointment which i could not do as i am a single parent with no one else to collect my child from school and it was at school pick up time. i was told that i was not allowed to cancel anymore appointments because i had previously asked to rearrange one due to childcare. i was told i would be given one last chance to attend an appointment but have not heard from them since, it has now been several months and i have given up. I previously gave up with this department 27 years ago and again 9 years ago due to their incompetence, sadly nothing has changed
