Too long a wait for diagnosis he died
My husband was not seen soon enough by a more senior doctor or referred soon enough by the GP. He was finally examined by a consultant from St Thomas's Hospital in London who finally found a tumour which had matastamied to his Liver and become cancer. He died a couple of months later. I had to fight every step of the way to get him the help he deserved and needed. The doctor we saw was cold brutal and had no bedside manner at all. We were shown out by a nurse and sat in the Costa coffee shop waiting for our transport crying. No one cared. After I ranted at everyone, we had a second opinion who finally decided he was a very fit man and agreed to give him a chance of chemo - and care through Hospice was the only help we received from the medical profession other than his oncologist. He was a lovely gentleman who knew how to treat people.
