Problem found with my heart

I visited the department for a test but they were unable to complete it due to them finding a problem with my heart. I was told by the consultant that the heart wasn't pumping properly and was given medication for 3 months. I was then sent an appointment letter by the nurse I went in + she asked if i knew why I was there, which I didn't. She said I had heart failure I feel that this although said in a well meaning way was a shock + there are better ways I could've been told.
