Right to Respond

Healthwatch is committed to providing a transparent and honest view of health and social care services. This is your opportunity as the health or social care provider to have your say on comments the public have left. It is designed to be constructive and allow both sides to have a fair and equal say in the matter so please:

  • Keep the language and tone civil
  • Don't mention personal details
  • Make it relevant to the review

Remember, your response will be seen by everyone who reads your organisation's comments, not just the original reviewer. Your reply is a good opportunity to acknowledge any comments received.

Ignoring the carer when information is needed

When my husband, who has dementia, is admitted to hospital via A&E, the doctors do not read his notes and continually ask him questions which he can not answer. Even when I am there they don't ask me until I give them the information. On occasions they have gone through all the questions with no responses to any of them before coming to me. Its a complete waste of time for them to try to ask him.
