Care of father
Waveney ward is a joke with the exception of (name removed) who is wonderful. The phone rings off the hook. Staff do not answer any of the various numbers you ring on and there could not be les of a coordinated approach to care if the hospital tried. My father pressed his help buzzer overnight. No one attended. The staff were confused by his clinical requirements. He received no food nor water, which was a mistake, I received a vague apology from a nurse when I was allowed to make an emergency visit to the ward, on the say so of Dr (name removed), to take food and drink to try to encourage him to eat. Later that afternoon, a junior doctor called and left a message with my son. My son asked the junior doctor to call me on my mobile. The junior doctor said they would. Perhaps unsurprisingly they didn't. I have tried to speak to the site matron, who will not take my call. The operator advised that he receives many calls from relatives about poor communication experiences with Waveneny ward. He suggest I call the CE's secretary in the morning to raise the issue at the highest level.
