Don't hold your breath when you're in crisis
Was sent to the crisis team in woodlands for an assessment, which then got me a referral to the IDT team. Had weekly phone calls that lasted no more than 3 months until they abruptly stopped as no one could be bothered to keep in touch. I asked what was happening with my care and was told that a care coordinator and psychiatrist was being sorted and I needed to wait. In Total I waited 12 months to finally have an assessment with the Duty nurse. Fast forward one week later and I have now been discharged from their services and told there is nothing they can do to help as they don't have the resources. It's always nice to know that your depression, anxiety, trauma and suicidal thoughts are not cared about enough to get the help and support you need. I dread to think how many other people have received these kinds of phone calls in a crisis. They're playing with fire telling people to just get on with life when they're on the brink of ending it all. Didn't help me 5 years ago so I don't know why I'm shocked they failed to help me again.
