Delayed Hip Replacement

I had a hip replacement 20 years ago and when I started getting a lot of pain in it I went back to see the doctor, they told me to take painkillers. It wasn't until I saw a different doctor that I was given an x-ray. I am now getting a hip replacement but the consultant said it should have been done 18 months ago and now requires a bone graft.
