They have improved their phone system
I do think they have improved their phone system at the surgery, you know where you are now in the queue which does help. Getting appointments are generally not too bad, there appears to be fewer doctors visible at the surgery these days. They do say urgent only on the day but sometimes they will get you in quickly, if you want to see a doctor for something that is not too serious then its usually booking ahead about 2-3 weeks. I do think if we were allowed to send an email with a medical question this would be helpful. It would be good to have the option of seeing just the nurse for a minor question about medical things rather than always using the doctor but Im not aware of that. Are the reception call handlers gatekeepers or facilitators? it makes a difference. On the whole staff are brilliant.
