New system is better

I've found ordering prescriptions using the NHS app easier than the previous POD system which I did worry wouldn't be the case.

'permissions' issues

We have had some issues with 'permissions' to get our sons prescription who is a non-verbal adult now, with severe learning disabilities. They said 'can he not say, 'mum can order my prescription?' This shows the complete lack of any understanding by the service. What part of 'non-verbal' with 'severe learning disabilities' do they not understand. He does not have or has ever had the capacity to consent. What are they thinking?!

Very convenient

I have been using this for a couple of years and find it easier than putting in a prescription slip, as it saves me a journey. I can use the online system that POD has but have found the phone line more convenient than 'booting up' the computer.

Queue on phone is weird

Have consistently found that you are in the queue at a certain number, such as 40, then the voice comes on again and you then 46 in the queue! Not sure whey and this has happened to me a few times. I do however prefer to call for my medication as online does not suit me.

Excellent way of ordering my prescriptions

Always ready at the pharmacy within the stated time , unlike when I’ve ordered on the NHS app , I travel overseas regularly for work and using the POD system in my opinion is the best way to order prescriptions as these can be ordered when on repeat, not a repeat item and also when I’m due a med review , fast, efficient excellent service every time

It's quick and convenient to use. I can place my repeat prescription at anytime which helps when working different hours each day.

54 in the queue but went very quickly, I liked the regular updates. Caller found my details swiftly. She acknowledged the urgency of my prescription and flagged it for me to receive ASAP. I suffer anxiety and was instantly put at ease.

POD are really helpful & friendly.

POD always answer within about 10 mins. If you call surgery it can take 40 mins to answer. Really good service for ordering repeats & past medication as well as telling you if a prescription is waiting at Pharmacy or has been collected.

Spend too long on the phone ,

Can take up to 45 minutes to speak to someone. If they're busy you get a recorded message asking you to ring back. Poor service.

They always go out there way to make sure you are getting all your medication.
Sometimes you may have to wait awhile on the phone, the longest I’ve waited was 35 minutes, I go on website to order mine now
