Bad communication with Hospital

GP gave me a referral to Ipswich hospital, and made it sound urgent. 6 weeks later I had not heard anything so I rang the hospital gynaecology and they had no referral information, and said I need to speak to the appointments dept. I called them, and they had no information either. I re-rang my GP and the referral was re-sent in April. I since have found out that the referral had been declined. I rang my GP and they said they did not know it had been declined. The reason the hospital gave me was my age, yet the GP said there is no age restrictions, so I am still waiting.
