ignores GP advice

We have gone to this chemist with dread a few times as they seem to always give us the third degree whenever we ask for any medicine. This is not prescription medication, just normal medicine. Most of the pharmacist do not listen and always seem to want to either not give the needed medicine or say that an alternative which won't work be given instead. When I tried to get medicine before they made me try something else, which of course didn't work. This time, they insisted that we see our GP first before allowing us to purchase cough medicine. Cough medicine!? Really? We did and the GP agreed it will be fine. My wife was obviously not well and has some medication from the GP as well. The pharmacist changed her mind and said that we can't have the cough syrup and then started to make up reasons why which my wife was very clear was not what she said. The pharmacist obviously thought that she knew better than the GP and refused. This is not a controlled drug or even something that could possibly threaten her license. She even asked my wife if she had some today already. (Basically accusing her of abusing it!) Why would she be buying it if we already had it???!!! Regardless of what our doctor said, apparently the pharmacist seem to know better. I would not recommend this pharmacy to anyone who actually needs medicine. I am sure that they are good for buying diapers though they might make you prove that you have a baby (who they believe is young enough) before they sell it to you though.
