Saved my son's eyesight
December 31, 2024
Son had his eye test and was urgently referred to the eye clinic, where he was diagnosed with idiopathic intercranual hypertension (IIH). If he hadn't gone for his eye test he would have gone blind. Can't thank the lady at Specsavers enough.
Very good at what they do

I was seen by Specsavers optician at Ipswich and as a result I was referred for an emergency appointment by Specsavers to the Eye clinic at the Ipswich hospital, it was confirmed that I had a condition called Occular migraine. It was Easter Saturday and there were only 3 people on duty at the eye department at the hospital it was like a ghost town but at least I was seen.
Had 2 paired made ok had pair vaerafocal us

Varifocal made first pair no good, second pair; went back said I could see a smudge, which I found was the number of lens I was seeing. As I have a lazy eye, my left eye was seeing more doing work for my right eye and was told all lens have number in and that was nothing that could do so I have a pair with smudge in
Really good care but chaotic organisation
April 30, 2017
Arrived on time for eye test for myself and my husband but organisation so chaotic that we weren't seen or booked in for 20 minutes. We felt rushed and herded about, with nowhere to sit. Once I saw the optician he was excellent, very thorough and explained everything very well. The person who dealt with my order for new glasses was also excellent, after another long wait. After three reminders I finally got the peripheral vision test which the optician recommended. I am sure that the machines should be cleaned between patients and this did not happen in the initial tests (the optician and the person who sorted out the new glasses did do this though). All in all very good care from professional and knowledgeable staff but the management/organisation was terrible and quite a stressful experience.
