Station Road Dental Surgery

Bad communication, mixed messages

My husband and I had the same dentist. My examination was cancelled earlier in the year and I was told due to covid the dentist needed to focus on treatment appointments and I would be contacted in due course with a new appointment. My husband called 3 months later for an emergency appointment and was informed our dentist left earlier in the year. There wasn't a dentist available to see him that week, but if things got worse, to call back and they would make an emergency appointment with another dentist at the surgery. His upcoming examination appointment was then cancelled. 3-4 months passed keeping the tooth sensitivity at bay, but it has now got worse. Called to make an emergency appointment to be told no-one at the practice would see him. He can see an independent dentist (not NHS, but semi-private) at one of their other practices, but that would be £45 before anything is done. Treatment costs would be on top of that. So we've not been told the real reason why my appointment was cancelled earlier in the year, to being told another dentist would see you for an emergency, to now no-one willing to see us unless we pay privately.
