Original feedback for

Suffolk Community Services

Community services never got in touch

I saw my colorectal consultant at Ipswich Hospital. He said I had an impacted rectum and that he would refer me to district nurses for enemas. By noon the following working day I had heard nothing so I rang Community Healthcare. They had received no referral. I left message on consultant secretary's phone explaining situation. Two days later I rang Community Healthcare again. Still no referral. I rang my GP who said he would put a note in the district nurses in-tray at the surgery. I never heard from the district nurses. I had to treat the impaction myself. I have had help from district nurses in the past and they are wonderful. Clearly there is a problem with referrals.
