Playing Russian Roulette with my mother’s lif
My poor mum has had the misfortune of coming under the care of Suffolk Social Services, and one particularly unprofessional Independent Welfare Practitioner, due to her dementia. They are now playing Russian Roulette with my mother’s life, shifting her from an assessment ward in a dementia hospital into a highly unsuitable care home without next of kin agreement. She only lasted three weeks there before having to return to the hospital in a much worse physical and mental state. During this time key information about her health was deliberately mis-held from her daughters. After three weeks back in the hospital we were told she was being moved onto a more permanent ward in the same hospital and then suddenly with less than two working days warning, we hear she’s being moved into another hospital (even further away from us) for more assessment. So it’s not even clear why she’s being moved at all. They have been highly uncommunicative this whole time and their approach lacks any compassion or common sense. They absolutely do not work in the best interests of the patient. Avoid at all costs if you possibly can.
