The Leiston Surgery



No hygiene measures used

Went for routine blood test. Nurses no longer wear gloves to draw blood. This would be fine however, the door handle to the procedure room is touched by every patient as they leave which means all staff have contaminated hands from opening and closing the door. Not once in my last few visits for bloods draws have I seen my nurse sanatize her hands. And the last two times I have been the nurse has not used an alcohol wipe over the area of my arm before drawing blood. This could cause the smallest amount of bacteria to be pushed directly into a vein.
