Staff need training

As a same sex couple and partner of someone undergoing cancer treatment I am constantly asked who I am to justify why I am at appointments. Consultants and ward staff ask questions that if I was a man wouldn't even be asked. One doctor wouldn't even talk with me and ignored the fact I was even there. Another wouldn't then look at my partner when they were giving really bad news, they really haven't been sensitive at all and appear to need basic training. Staff have also given poor advice after seeing the breast cancer diagnosis in isolation and didn't take in to consideration how other areas had been affected so furhter damage has been caused.
