Hard to speak with a doctor

Every time I contact the surgery I get put down for a Nurse practitioner to give me a call back. I have requested a Doctor specifically due to various complex health problems but am advised that the GP will decide who they will speak to and the nurse always says I will need to check with the GP. I am fed up and probably will not be a patient of this practice much longer. I cannot fault one or two members of staff who have been excellent and understand the frustration I feel.
