Always a smile and positive attitude

June 4, 2019
I visit my mother at various times of the day and it makes no difference. She is always well cared for. All the staff are well trained and qualified, and dedicated. They always have a 'smile' and a positive attitude. The home is always clean and tidy. My mum's clothes are always clean (thank you) and they cater for her dietary needs with particular care. The meals are varied and to a high standard.
I would recommend Mildenhall Lodge care home to anyone, without reservation.

Well looked after

December 3, 2018
My mother has been here for two months so far. She came here from her own house and she really likes it here. She wanted to come here because she couldn't cope alone any longer, even with carers and my visits. She is well looked after and I can be sure she is safe. The staff are all very caring.

Everything is great

December 3, 2018
My mum was in a home in Thetford for some months. She was in for respite care and the home was ok. It became apparent that she couldn't go home, she wasn't robust enough, so she moved here to be closer to the family. She has really flourished since she came here, she is so well cared for. Everything here is great!

This one is the best

October 4, 2018
This is the third (Care) home that I have lived in. I was in one in Lakenheath for ten years but it closed down and I had to be moved elsewhere. That wasn't good but there wasn't much I could do about it. I was then in another home in Mildenhall while they were building this one. There was a lot of staff changes to begin with but it is great now! This one is the best of the three. The food is ok but it doesn't always suit my tastes. We do get lots of people come in to entertain us, like today with the singer and music.

He is much happier here.

October 4, 2018
My friend of many years was becoming unable to look after himself. He had a diagnosis of dementia. His house had no heating and so he often came to my house. I don't think he was eating properly except the meals that he had at mine. Sadly, it got to the point where he was unwilling to leave my house and go home to his own. Sometimes he would turn quite nasty when I said it was time to go. He is much happier here. He is always clean and tidy and I think he has put on a bit of weight. I take him out at least once a week and he ia always happy enough to come back (To Mildenhall Lodge). The staff are so good with him, they are always welcoming and smiling.

It's like being in a big family

I have been here for nearly three years now, the food is gorgeous! Living here is like being in a big family. The staff are like my sons and daughters! Nothing is too much trouble for them.

I am really pleased I moved here

October 4, 2018
I didn't really want to give up my own home and move here but I am really pleased now that I did. i didn't really see anyone except my carers for days on end before. Now I see and chat to the others who live here and their visitors. I get more people coming to see me now than was the case when I was at home-there is always a cup of tea and a bit of cake and it is so nice here. I like it here. There is always someone around if you need them.

Staff are so accommodating

October 4, 2018
He came in at the end of last year. He was in poor health and unable to look after herself. All of us in his family live away from the area and he didn't want to come and live with any of us and that was sad because he had become a compulsive hoarder which made everything worse. We now feel very relieved because he is both safe and happy here. We never feel bad at the end of a visit when we have to leave. The staff are so accommodating and friendly, I'm so pleased be came here..

He is so much more settled

October 4, 2018
Living at home became too much for my dad about 16 months ago. He had visiting carers but his growing level of confusion meant that we were worried about his safety between visits. He was eating ok but he kept trying to do things that were unsafe for his level of mobility and frequently falling and laying on the floor until the next set of carers came. We live an hour and a half's drive away so our ability to respond quickly was limited. He is so much more settled now he is living here. There are people for him to talk to and lots going on. We are very pleased with the people who look after him

Excellent, caring staff

Staff are very helpful, compassionate and caring. Nothing seems too much trouble to them. They care for the welfare of all residents. Also food looks very good (Cakes are as I have tasted them!). All in all, a very nice place.
