Cannot get access

July 12, 2018
You just cannot get access when you need it. Now waiting at least 6 months for therapy for my eating disorder. We will look into the recovery college after getting information from Healthwatch Suffolk.

Ongoing support, amazing

July 12, 2018
Ongoing support from the support worker for son has been amazing. Since home schooling and support from Autism Suffolk, things have got better for son. I had to badger NSFT initially to get support, but once started its been brilliant.

Amazing support

July 12, 2018
Up to this point we have had amazing support for our child.
Autism took quite some time to diagnose and now she has a dedicated CAF at school. We are hopeful that she will do well. With quite complex needs the holistic approach by the CAF has been great for the whole family.

Several years of support but patchy

July 5, 2017
I have been seeing people at Meridian house for several years now. I have had varied levels of support and CBT, a hospitalisation and many medication changes. I've had a lot of psychiatrists/trainees/psychologists and support workers throughout my time and they have not offered bad service. Waiting times for appointments are long, diagnoses sometimes can be hazy - but that is mental health for you and medication changes can be hit and miss - also to be expected. Support is offered throughout this time and I have been given crisis numbers and several care plans to help with my future care. Receptionists are polite and I have a lot of faith in the people that have been in charge of my care throughout the years. When I went to university I was disappointed with the change over of care, or lack of. I owe them a lot but I also have used alternative charities to gain therapeutic support where the NHS has fallen down. They do their best when their funding is being constantly cut. waiting lists within the NHS are too long for some people.

Poor

March 2, 2017
Failing to support family, too busy for medication review for my son, 17, with severe LD + autism + challenging behaviour. Told my son's doctor is too busy to see him. She first said she wanted to see him every 5-6 weeks. It is now 3 months; eventually got a phone consultation..
Service have also failed to respond to LA request for advice for my son's EHC needs assessment as part of the transfer process from statement to EHC plan. LA writing to them again

As a family frustrated by lack of support

August 31, 2016
Whilst there has been medication prescribed and a referral to mental health services for son age 17 with suicidal feelings, think there should be more happening for him and family by way of support.

Son needs help longer than they give it

August 10, 2016
My son was under this team, but they do not seem to carry on the service very long. He will not open up to me as a single mum. This service does not offer actually what is needed. He needs a positive role model in this life and shuts himself away. The team worked with him for a short while and made a bit of progress then it stopped. Now we are back to square one with no help and now he does not trust them either as he feels let down.

Nice staff, no resources apt svcs

Lack of tier 1,2,3 camhs services. 12+ month wAit for psych meds review, handover at 14yrs disturbed continuity. Lack of permanent child psychiatrists meant lack of appts/lack of engagement & again lack of continuity
