Community COPD

I attended the community COPD course at Hartismere Hospital which was 6 weeks long and I found it to be good and noticed an improvement in my condition. The breathing techniques that were taught were especially good.
Very good nurses

They have reduced the time between changes for my catheter as when they changed to the silicon one it blocked more regularly but I had a bit of a fight to get it changed. Rather than having daily diabetic injections I'm now having less frequent ones but it wasn't really a discussion I was just told it was happening., no discussion.
Long wait for fortisips

We waited from September through to January last year for fortisips to be provided by Nutricia so weight continued to drop even though we were chasing the delivery.
Great Community nurses

They have been great, visiting dad regularly for bloods and regular nurse visits, they're brilliant.
Wonderful nurses

The nurses are very good and they visit mum at home to care for her munltiple times a week. The only slight area of concern is the communication with the surgery which at times can cause confusion and mean things need to be rearranged.
Physios are good but accessing post operative

I had a replacement knee which was and still is problamtic. To have a telephone consultation appointments were 3 weeks. Face to face 4 weeks, and only 30 minutes. Not enough time, still left with problems sadly.
Not enough sessions for post-stroke patients

Only had 5 sessions after stroke rehab when I got home. 45mins a week,not enough. Odd exercises, then weeks 3-5 walked up my road and back. Lovely people just not enough of them, or appts.

Great service. Physiotherapist thorough and attentive. Service puts onus on user to make appointments rather than making contact. Discharges if not done promptly. Feels aggressive! Actual people - excellent
Back problems

Initially I was referred for an assessment, and then to a back specialist at the Riverside in Ipswich. I had a couple of MRI'S. He was very thorough and informative.
Very good service

The service has been very good visiting my sister doing her insulin twice a day and any blood tests that have been needed. The nurses have also been up to her day centre when the tests have been needed for a hospital visit. They are a great team and let us know who will be coming when.
