Fantastic care home
April 4, 2023
My stepmother was in The Willows for nearly 3 years, from early 2020 to late 2022. It is a fantastic care home. Quite small, the atmosphere of a home for people living together rather than a care home, and staff that are permanent (get to know residents) and really care. When end of life was imminent, The Willows very much wanted my step-mother to be discharged from hospital and go back to the room and people she knew, which she did, and she had the best end of life care and passed peacefully.
Best care possible

My mother entered the Willows with the frailties of old age and onset dementia. She was treated with great kindness, care and respect, and always appeared happy at the home. The last few weeks of her life were difficult. She needed constant attention in her room. The staff were always there for her and with the aid of her doctor and the hospital she passed peacefully at the Willows. There was never any question that my mother would die in hospital. The Willows wanted to care for her as long as they were able. The additional care required did not deter them.
The management and staff were very caring

The management and staff were very caring in their approach towards both my mother and me (and our family). The food was varied and they tried to take note of people's particular likes and dislikes. It would be preferable to have a wet room shower where residents could sit and shower which would be more like home. The space could benefit from having a separate dining room.
Outstanding staff and care!

The carer's could not have given mum other any better care than she received. They were excellent and very caring. I would recommend this care home to anyone who asked me for recommendation.

Both our parents have been in The Willows since October 2016. The care, respect and friendliness of all the staff have been amazing - we've thanked our lucky stars we've been involved with this organization. My mother has dementia and Dad had other serious problems. Both have been looked after and very happy at the Willows. Our Dad passed away last night (10 August 2017) and the care and consideration shown to us and our mother has been outstanding.
Mum was in good hands

My mum was suffering from social exclusion and recently had a heart attack. When the Willows took my mum I knew straight away she was in good hands. The management team are always available to talk to or they will call you back. The care team are remarkable, compassionate and always approachable. My mum is now home due to all their hard work. "The Willows" is situated in beautiful surroundings and is always clean, tidy and smells nice. Huge thank you to all for bringing my mum back! I would recommend The Willows before anywhere else. Go and see for your self you won't be disappointed.

A small and happy care home which I recommend to anyone. I cannot praise the staff at The Willows enough. My mother-in-law has been a resident for the past 18 months which has not been an easy ride for anyone. The staff have bent over backwards to help her settling in,keep her happy and provide activities and outings to aid mental stimulation. Added to which they are kind, patient and very caring at all times
