Works well

No issues getting blood appointments at the surgery when I need them. I also have 6 monthly check ups and it all works very well indeed.
Happy

Really happy with the surgery it works very well. I just call and arrange appointments and they are easily available.
Good

Generally everything is good with the care provided and medication available from the surgery. There are times however, when I don't need all the items on my prescription and they don't actually check what I've said I need. Usually staff are pretty good on the phone and in appointments I've been given plenty of time to discuss issues.
Although it's a good surgery I do find the process is a hassle and it puts me off contacting the surgery.

Although it's a good surgery I do find the process is a hassle and it puts me off contacting the surgery. The triage is done by reception rather than the GPs and they aren't medical and it feels wrong that they are making the decisions.
A little too much questioning

Sometimes the questioning by the reception team goes a little too far and I've been told by them that I couldn't have certain antibiotic eye drops that I needed, should it be their decision.
Mostly phone appointments
March 25, 2024
Mostly have phone appointments but would prefer to have one with the doctor at times. My asthma is well monitored by the nurses and I feel that there is good planning and they react well when I have any issues. It would also be better if I was able to book appointments ahead as I have to arrange transport and on the day makes it much more difficult.
Mixed

I've only had one face to face appointment with a GP since covid as most appointments are by phone and I've found that with long term conditions they're not overly interested, however the nurses do look after my asthma well. I've also had issues getting medication reinstated after it was removed from my prescription with no explanation or discussion, it took 4 months to get it back.
A slow decline in service

I have been with them for 30 years. It used to be the best ever. Sadly post Covid and even before it has declined enormously. Doctors have retired or left and it is really hard to be seen because if the barriers put up via triage system. Long waiting times to see a doctor and you can only dus uss one issue per appointment. Ridiculous if you are old with multiple problems. The docs themselves are fine but so overwhelmed they don’t really have time to listen to you. Receptionists abrupt( the old ones were amazingly kind and caring). Sorry but it’s really disappointing

It's a good surgery but very busy and takes time to get through, although the last time I called it was better and appointments are always available when you do speak to someone.
