I feel stuck in a cycle

February 4, 2025
I have been under IDT for 8 years. I have asked to see a female psychiatrist as I have an issue with males for my own reasons and so I choose to speak with female medical staff, but they say that they only have males. So it seem the only option is to be left, get worse, go back to hospital and this cycle seems to happen again and again and I feel constantly stuck in this cycle. My care coordinator went on maternity leave and I was never given a replacement. I find it very difficult to communicate over the phone its like a phobia to me but they want me to use it, I prefer to speak face to face. What I would like to see is for them to keep in contact, not to ignore me and to offer more support.

Full of promises but nothing happens

My partner has been under the IDT mental health team for the last 3 years. last week she was discharged but is no better, she is now going to be under the care of anglia care Trust but going to be 3 to 4 months before any help. the staff were always friendly at IDT not enough staff and resources for people living with mental health. things have got to change to help people and people living alone it must be frightening

Traumatising

Absolutely awful. I still have severe mental health issues yet also have to deal with the trauma from my treatment by this service. Appalling.

Was told they don’t know how to help me

Awful when your designated community mental health team say they don’t know how to help someone with my severe mental health issues. In my opinion.

Absolutely Amazing today.

In severe distress. I cannot fault the senior staff member who spoke to me today. Thank you. And the receptionists are really helpful. Very professional. Just needed someone to hear me. Was in despair.

Just bad.

Nobody understands. Feel like you’re not taken seriously. Call backs from the duty worker often do not happen. Better hope you never go into crisis because there isn’t anything to support you if you do. So much more i could say about how bad it is (and NSFT in general) but I can’t find the words.

Ultimate Chaos

World renowned ultimate chaos can’t even put out a metaphorical fire now! Only good part of the service in my opinion is the receptionist’s.

Unreliable and actively abrasive

I would go months without any contact. I would repeatedly ring to try and speak to people with no joy. The online waiting room didn't work so I'd be sat in there waiting for my appointment so long i'd miss it.

I repeatedly asked to know when my appointment would be to just be repeatedly sent a link to a teams meeting instead of just being told the time and date. With it taking me over 10 phone calls to finally find out when my appointment was.

I find it hard to have any faith or trust in the team as it honestly feels like some members are being purposely difficult and malicious

shocking

As a carer it is almost impossible to speak to anyone involved in the care of our son. Emails are ignored and phone messages never answered. When, after extreme perseverance, I managed to meet his psychiatric nurse, she was less than helpful. It’s heart breaking and actually disgraceful that those who are most vulnerable are cared for so poorly.

Was full of hope

January 23, 2023
Was full of hope when handed over by the Home treatment team, promise lots, deliver little. Phoned in crisis 3 days in a row, a week later and still no call back. One psychiatrist who only works on a Friday, easier to deal with my GP. Receptionists are the most helpful.
