No follow up support

January 24, 2025
They push you away after they give you a diagnosis, no support follows on.

Over a years wait

January 22, 2025
We waited over a year for a memory assessment in the end. Originally told an appointment would be 28 weeks and then at the end of the year we were told it would be another 24weeks. Needed an MRI but because of the delays we decided to go private.

From referral have had a 10 month wait for an appointment and there never seems to be anyone on reception to do the booking but have had a CT scan.

Feel its been poor

August 7, 2023
The memory clinic has been poor. After doing a number of assessments they were still unable to diagnose anything but then have said there is an issue and referred mum to Addenbrookes so we don't really know whats happening.

Seen quickly

January 6, 2023
We were told in a letter it would be a 7 month wait for my wife to be seen. However, we were seen very quickly and have now had the assessment and waiting to find out the results. All good so far.

6 month wait

December 23, 2022
It's been a long wait to get my wife seen at the clinic but once there everything has kicked in to gear and they apologised for the delay. So far very happy with what has been done, it was just the wait to be seen that was very difficult.

A long wait

My wife is having to wait 6 months for her memory assessment which is a long time to have to wait when you think something is wrong.

Face to face appointment

October 28, 2021
We were able to see them face to face. I am not sure we would have been able to do anything online, so that was good. At the initial assessment we had a referral for a head scan, which has now been had, and we are due back at the service for further discussion.
The person was very lovely and we are seeing the same person again as far as we know, which I think is key for consistency and familiarity. We did not get given any information.
(gave them info for dementia together)

Difficult to get mum diagnosed

July 30, 2021
It was very difficult to get mum diagnosed last year as memory clinics and scans were difficult to arrange. All appointments were by Zoom which didn't suit mum and made it more challenging. It just took so long to get the diagnosis and to get the support she needed.

The lady I saw was delightful

March 6, 2020
The lady explained everything to me and my wife - even down to giving me some feedback, of what would happen next. Bravo to her.
