Referral to mental health specialist

March 26, 2025
I have been referred by my GP to have an assessment for my mental health, I think my GP surgery are brilliant, they are so helpful to me and they listen very well, my GP gave me a full hour recently, Ive been told that I am autistic, its a big relief to know, but unfortunately I was referred to Manor House specialist mental health provider over a year ago and I have been told that I will have to wait at least two years to be seen. This is very difficult for me to come to terms with and is very hard on my mental health whie I am waiting and not knowing. They have offered support to me online which I am very unsure about as they have not explained well enough to me how I can do that.

I haven't had any issues accessing appointments at the surgery and the care from staff is good when you see them.

Very good GP

December 6, 2024
I have a very good GP who will always call me back when I contact the surgery. I really can't fault them, they've been amazing and so on the ball for my spouse who they saw once and referred straight to hospital, it was all so quick.

They have been absolutely amazing

October 31, 2024
This surgery is great, they have been absolutely amazing, getting access to appointments as I need them is good, there is good follow up for patients. I usually make an appointment using the phone, I have not experienced any issues. If I need a blood test they do it here for me. I am happy with the consistency of seeing the same people. I think there is much more of a personal touch at this surgery. Please dont change anything!

2 hours wait to get through on phone

September 19, 2024
I rang the surgery recently and I waited 2 hours on the phone to get through, this seems ridiculous to me but we have to do it if we dont use a computer as it's the only way to contact the surgery. It is also very hard to get an appointmet to see the doctor.

Appalling

August 29, 2024
I was utterly appalled by my appointment to see a GP today. If it was possible to give zero or minus stars I would certainly do so.

Having been asked - and waited 3 weeks - to make an appointment to discuss a letter, the "discussion" consisted of reading it off the screen and absolutely no input from me. The whole exercise seemed entirely pointless and I could have had my painkillers 3 weeks ago when they were first requested.

In fact from start to finish of the appointment there was absolutely no eye contact whatsoever, I doubt the GP could describe me if challenged. Certainly no recognition or comment about the fact that I walked in to the surgery clearly in obvious pain.

I also am deeply unimpressed by the patronizing attitude which appeared to assume that my age had atrophied any capability I might have to understand words of more than one syllable.

I've found a few reception staff are rude

Whilst on the phone to a receptionist, the lady didn't want to know what was wrong with me.

Unacceptable 8 week check for myself & baby

May 16, 2024
Awful experience for 8 week check after having my baby, extremely vague questions nothing with regards to my physical health at all. Not confident in the check that was done for my babies health most concerning was when the doctor threw my baby in the air to test neck strength!! He wasnt weighed properly just my partner standing on the scales with and without him. No length measurement. Completely rushed and didn’t feel like any of the correct questions were even asked as per the nhs guidelines for the appointment, really unhappy and now looking to move surgery. Asked to sort out my contraception as this was advised by midwife this would be at this appointment and the nhs guidelines advise this would be done at this appointment and was told to make an appointment!

Symptoms recognised and transferred to relevant specialist very quickly. Simply explained the problems, and checked up on me latter too!

Lack of communication and assistance

August 31, 2023
I'm writing this on behalf of my son. He has ADHD and has medication for that, unfortunately there is a lack of the medication. This is the 2nd time, I was advised to speak to the GP to ask for the liquid for of his medication (via the ADHD team) which I did, the GP surgery had received a letter explaining that and I also have a copy of that letter. So when I went to follow up with the new prescription, I was told that the pharmacy team were declining to issue a new prescription because it wasn't on my son's notes (letter was dated 31/7) and I had to go through the ADHD Team who had already confirmed that it should be sorted my the GP team.
We've had many issues with the surgery and prescriptions.
