Absolutely no help at all.

Found it all too forced, the counsellor had no life experience was quoting from a book. Got no where with it and gave up after a load of sessions.

Awful

April 4, 2025
My symptoms were dismissed and I was discharged with an incorrect diagnosis that I didn't feel I had "traits of personality disorder and anxiety" they changed all my medication even though I didn't want to ask what I was being prescribed already was helping. It felt dismissive and like it was an easy quick close for them rather than patient led care. It was made apparent that personality disorders come with a stigma of "not responding to clinical treatment" within mental health services. During my first appointment they only spoke to my husband who attended with me, and not me.

I asked to review this but I was still discharged without a 2nd review. With the support of my GP I argued for a 2nd opinion where I finally got the support I needed and correct diagnosis which is bipolar disorder.

Even though I eventually got a positive end result, the process was very upsetting.

They refer to places that no longer exist then to places you give no consent too who contact you at 11pm at night.

Awful

I was supposed to be monitored after having a heart attack and feeling suicidal. A meeting was supposed to be held but nothing has been done. I’m absolutely disgusted with their lack of care. I need their help desperately.

Frustrating, patronising and demoralising

June 25, 2022
I was re referred for the 5th time and had been working with a lovely lady who provided support and guidance. They then passed responsibility back to me to find help through my employer! I have had no further calls in 5weeks.

Today I received a call to be told I need to access certain 'groups' which they are fully aware as to why i cannot attend for personal reasons. This has been completely despite the risk to me if I attend.

I have basically been told to bugger off and if I need further help call the GP. My opinions about my own personal circumstances are being ignored and I'm being discharged again for the 4th/5th time. Absolutely shocking, no wonder some people feel they cannot cope and there is no way out. No facility to complain directly to Mariner House. I have been under the IDT team on and off for 12+years. Still no help. Disgraceful.

Don't hold your breath when you're in crisis

October 6, 2021
Was sent to the crisis team in woodlands for an assessment, which then got me a referral to the IDT team. Had weekly phone calls that lasted no more than 3 months until they abruptly stopped as no one could be bothered to keep in touch. I asked what was happening with my care and was told that a care coordinator and psychiatrist was being sorted and I needed to wait.

In Total I waited 12 months to finally have an assessment with the Duty nurse. Fast forward one week later and I have now been discharged from their services and told there is nothing they can do to help as they don't have the resources.

It's always nice to know that your depression, anxiety, trauma and suicidal thoughts are not cared about enough to get the help and support you need. I dread to think how many other people have received these kinds of phone calls in a crisis. They're playing with fire telling people to just get on with life when they're on the brink of ending it all. Didn't help me 5 years ago so I don't know why I'm shocked they failed to help me again.

This service is not fit for purpose.

August 23, 2021
This service does not exist - why vulnerable people with mental health issues are continually released from hospitals into it’s ‘care’ is beyond me. They do not signpost to Mind and allow vulnerable people with mental health issues to ‘make their own decisions’ even if that is not in their best interest . They seem very blasé about their role and purpose . The concerns of family members are almost ridiculed and there is no communication of any meaning between referred and family members - it is like being stonewalled by a service incapable of providing any care at all . Piecemeal plans if you harass them to perform their duties. If you are referred do not expect anything from them - and understand your GP’s work under their decisions even if your GP has more to offer than IDT .

Duty workers did not call back

July 28, 2021
After reaching out to the mental health team for support during a difficult time, nobody in the team called me back

Horrific. Terrible. Soul destroying

June 1, 2021
I will never get the help I need because these professionals don't care. They would rather label you before even seeing you in person. Don't hold your breath. Four months and never met anyone or had a meeting. Don't have a case worker or anything. So much for urgent referrals.

Utterly disgraceful.

April 22, 2021
I’ve been with IDT since May 2019. An assessment was done and I was ‘forgotten’ about as the person didn’t add me to the servers. Fast forward to October 2019, ANOTHER assessment was done. Was diagnosed with BPD, PTSD and a Panic Disorder. - it’s now April 2021. And I’ve received NO therapy. No care coordinator. I’ve children in my care with social services who have also hassled the IDT services and they just get ignored. After nearly 20 months, my mental health is at its all time lowest. I’ve complained multiple times to the people I speak to and nothing changes! It’s honestly disgusting especially after reading VERY similar stories and all around the same time too!
