Had issues trying to get a child seen

October 26, 2021
After two hospital visits with our child we visited the surgery to try and get something sorted but it was the end of the day and we were told we had to leave the surgery as they were closing up and they refused to help. Really disappointed.

Dreadful

March 15, 2021
Left a young patient mentally vulnerable. Gave them medication of not even therapeutic dose and referred her to what seems like a side service. Ignored both times when put in writing to refer to someone else and they declined to write a GP letter that was requested. Disgusting.

Trying to see a doctor.

October 14, 2020
Numerous occasions (since Covid) trying to see a Doctor is impossible, wait for hours on end for a call back and still not get a face to face appointment. Also getting results from a test that you give, this is given to you by the receptionist which I doubt is not medically trained, and, surely this is confidential for use by your Doctor.

TV sound

March 5, 2020
My biggest gripe about this surgery is they insist having the TV sound on. Forcing everyone to listen to the usual Brain-dead quiz show or other such nonsense. This is the only establishment I know that allows that to happen. All other places are respectful and if a tv is on the wall it is PICTURE ONLY and usually with subtitles turned on. Apart from this the reception, dispensing and nursing staff are knowledgeable friendly and helpful.

Appalling treatment by receptionist.

A robot would display more empathy. I was the only person in the waiting room, and I asked for the TV to be turned down ( Strictly on at full blast) and she pretended to do so but actually turned it back up. She wasn’t even in the room! She was busy in some back room. She wouldn’t let me sit in the other waiting area for security reasons ( whatever that means). It’s shocking how if you are sick you have to endure ridiculous rules applied by someone with no humanity in the places of care you visit.

Doctor did a google search for advice

June 4, 2019
I was told by my midwife to see my GP to ask if I was able to take piriton while pregnant for food allergies. I booked an appointment. I waited in the waiting room for over an hour for my appointment. When I finally saw the doctor he told me he wasn't an allergy specialist and that I should talk to my midwife. I explained that my midwife had sent me to him. He then proceeded to do a google search and look on the piriton web pages (which I could have done from home). He ended up saying that it was my choice whether to take it or not as there wasn't enough evidence as to whether it would or wouldn't harm the baby.
I appreciate that doctors need to be thorough with each patient, but to wait for over an hour to see a doctor and then watch him do a google search was a bit excessive.

Used to be good.

November 12, 2018
This surgery used to be good but recently my husband was unwell-he is self employed- and he tried for three days to see a doctor. After that the symptoms had improved slightly and he had to go back to work and hope he got better.

I can't go to the doctors.

November 12, 2018
My local surgery has some issues (I am told) and it is only possible to make an appointment for that day and to do that you have to 'phone in the morning. I take medication for my mental health issues and one of the side effects is that when I wake up in the morning (at whatever time is is) I can't think clearly or do much for some time. I can't therefore call the surgery and when I am able the appointments are all gone. So, I can't go to the doctors!

Difficult to see a doctor

June 14, 2018
Used to be very good but over the last year it's been very difficult to see a doctor you want to see. They appear to only have a lot of temporary doctors. You are now unable to book appointments through the web system and its difficult to get hold of anyone by phone to arrange an appointment.
