School nurse hearing check

Although my child is at school and the school nurse picked up that my child had hearing difficulties because they were only four they were unable to refer them on to audiology and we had to go via the GP and wait for a referral on to hospital. I don't understand why when a child is at school and the team have identified an issue that they then say they are too young for them to refer, just seems odd.
Difficulties with safeguarding

Local people are supporting someone and have tried to raise a safeguarding on three occasions but each time told there was nothing for them to do. The person is reliant on local people to support them now because the system doesn't seem to be able to do anything. It seems difficult for local concerned people to raise concerns.
Not easy

Hour long phone call to do a carers assessment was not easy. A lack of resources available means that once someone gets a dementia diagnosis nothing else happens, you're just left to fend for yourself.

Long drawn out process, still discussing issues via email. The online app for the carers assessment was not easy as the options didn't seem to be there.
No visit

I was asked to show my baby to the team using a tablet. How can this be a safe way to engage with families. I'd be concerned that children could be at risk and this would get missed.

It isn't as comprehensive as I'd like, the offer is quite limited and I felt quite dropped. The text line that is available is very good though and I did get quick responses when using it.
Specialist Health visitor

The support provided by the specialist health visitor for SEND was brilliant and they were worth their weight in gold. Advice and information was always available whenever I contacted them and they were brilliant.

My Social Worker has been brilliant at arranging a fall alarm and ring door bell for me. They are so supportive and any time I've needed anything they have sorted it out quickly. When the financial assessments were done they weren't overly intrusive and it all worked out well.
A long way for appointment

I was told that the only way to get an injection for my child was to go through the school nursing team which was fine but the only appointment they could offer was in Ipswich and we live in Brandon. It was also difficult as the only way to book was online and you couldn't speak to anyone.
Occupational therapist was excellent

The occupational therapist who was from SCC has gone above and beyond for me with support, as an amputee I needed a ramp to access my home.
