Good to have local service

Can get appointment usually. Only open on Monday's here, but we will go to Alderton if we need a different day. It is very convenient for us to have this local offer of the service
Access to Blood tests

I can only get to Hollesley due to no transport, so it is a lifeline for me. When I need a blood test they are good at doing it here though I know they'd prefer me to go to Alderton, due to timing of the surgery here.
To get the appointment I called Alderton, and was on hold for ages, which was irritating. No idea how long I was going to wait, and I did give up a couple of times before eventually getting through.

Staff are great but medication can be a worry

Surgery is very good as I see the nurse for what I need and just to be sure of something they got the GP to check, so I was pleased that I was seeing the right person at the right time. My only slight concern is about my medication timing, putting prescriptions in. I can forget to put it in by end of Thursday to get it Monday, otherwise I need to wait until Wednesday, now that it is closed on Tuesday. As there is no local pharmacy, I have to pick it up within the surgery's dispensary.
Worried about the future of surgery

I don't use the surgery much but I can usually get an appointment when I need one. However, I usually walk in as I cannot easily get through on the telephone. Concerned about surgery no longer open on Tuesdays as timing of my medication prescription can be difficult as I pick it up from the dispensary. They have removed the clock, an they were always running behind on appointment.

Very good practice. Locals are worried about the potential future of this surgery as it now closes Tuesdays. Those that don't drive find Alderton too far.
Happy experience of the service

Seeing community midwife. Planning home birth. My experience has been pretty good so far. I've seen my midwife regularly and 2 others once. My last experience, by 20 weeks I still hadn't seen a midwife and ended up going private. I find the care navigation system a step to help with the pressure that services are under.
Location and times is a problem for locals

Find it unfair living in a village that we get less opening times than Alderton. I speak for many locals. Most recovering from illnesses need a local service. Cannot fault the care we get though, it is top class. The system is fine, however getting asked to go to the other surgery in Alderton is not always doable.
