Very intentive

I had tendonitis in my leg saw the gp who gave me an all over inspection, then straight through to physio very happy an recovered well

I'm especially pleased to read about your experience of the physiotherapist - this is an additional service we offer and our Care Navigators can book appointments with the physio directly for patients, which saves time for you and releases a GP appointment too.

Terrible Experience

Incorrect medication given by a nurse practitioner. Ended up back there the next day seeing a proper GP. We don't want to see a nurse practitioner. Why can't the reception staff understand that. Did they offer reimbursement for the wrong prescription NO. This surgery is getting worse, the reception staff are extremely rude, they don't need to know my medical issue. Why are appointments not loaded on to the online system.

Advanced Nurse Practitioners are highly trained and appropriately qualified clinicians who are able to deal with a range of patient needs. We do not have an unlimited supply of GP appointments, and we need to ensure that wherever possible you are directed to the most appropriate clinician, first time. This may save a GP appointment and possibly wasted time for you too. this is why our staff ask for a brief explanation of your problem on the day.

When I needed the doctor he was there for me and when my wife had cancer she was given first class care.

the 'System on line' the way ahead?

The service I receive at Walton surgery is in my opinion First class and I was encouraged to register with the system on line booking service which was initially brilliant.,
I could choose who I wanted to see on a regular basis,the day and time but it seems to have failed as we are now back to the 90's having to phone up at 8 am to be told that there are no appointments for a doctor,
I thought by using the new 'system' I could book in advance but there has not been a doctors appointment on there since before xmas 2018,

Thank you for providing this feedback. Because of our current 'on the day' booking system, we have stopped offering GP appointment booking online. Appointments with other clinicians are still available.
We do constantly review our appointment system and any future changes will be publicised on our website and in the Practice Newsletter.

Impossible to get an appointment.

Tried to get an appointment for my partner for a weeks time as he was away on business, explained the situation and they just said he would have to call on the morning and see if there was an appointment available. No advanced booking allowed. Then tried to offer an evening appointment which again I had to decline because they hadn't listen to my original request advising he was away for a week!!!! The receptionist are rude saying I wasn't listening to them and they had tried to offer a solution, not sure how he was supposed to make the evening appointment when not in the country!!!!. We ended up going to A&E upon his return

I am very sorry to read of the problems you experienced in trying to make a GP appointment. At present, we are operating a system of on the day booking only. We do always try and ensure we offer appointments to anyone who needs to be seen the same day wherever possible.

Had a blood test toady and as usual was treated very well by the HCA. I have had no problem accessing the service.

Surgery changed recently

Surgery seems to have changed recently quite a bit. Nurse who has been here a long time left and today there is no GP here. Feels wrong. I am here to see the Nurse Practitioner who is very good.

Thank you for making the time to provide your feedback. We have made some changes at the surgery recently, which has included some staffing changes. We have recently recruited two new practice nurses who we feel will provide an excellent standard of care to our patients. Without having specific details of the date in question, its difficult to answer the GP question. We usually have at least one GP on duty at all times, unless they are off sick at short notice or out of the building on house calls.
I'm very pleased to read your comments about our Advanced Nurse Practitioner - we also feel she is an excellent clinician and has helped improve care to our patients since joining the team last year.

Not taken seriously

Do not feel like I am being taken seriously. Been fobbed off since September 2018 with young child who had ongoing cough. Find receptionists patronising. As my child is under 4 years old, I know they should be seen, but reception say they don't need to be.
