A lot of trainee Doctors
November 19, 2024
There do seem to be a large number of trainee GPs at the surgery. You do seem to go round in circles and things aren't followed up. The reception team are good and do their best but it's difficult to get what you need. I do find it wrong that doctors names are shortened as surnames are difficult to pronounce.
On the whole good

On the whole they are good but I was a bit put out as I went to the surgery on another matter but whilst I was there I enquired about maybe having a PSA test, I was asked if I had any of the symptoms but based on what I said they wouldnt authorise one.
Don't feel greatly cared for

I don't feel they care a great deal about some people, they dont seem to pay any attention to my husband he has prostate cancer and they never check on him, I think he at least needs to be called for an annual check.
Easy access

I am very pleased with this surgery, I was quite unwell in the last year and they were good to me, I find that they are quite easy to get access by phone when needed.
Kind staff

In the time I have been using the service, I have found the staff very kind. I moved to here in the last year. I have not used it very much, but it has been good when I have needed it to be. It is good that you can get bloods done in a timely way locally, it is helpful as it takes less time out of my day than if I had to travel to hospital, so I appreciate it.
Very good service

For me and my family, we find this service very good. I use the telephone and it does not take too long to get through. People are helpful and the text messaging system is good too. The children are not frightened of going to the surgery, which is good as staff are lovely with them.
Definitely improved

In my time here I have seen all the changes, with the merger etc, I stuck with them as I knew things would settle. I appreciate being able to come to a local site too. Things did take a downturn when under more pressure, when the pandemic and merger happened close together, but I have definitely seen an improvement. The staff are lovely, whereas I found some quite rude before.
No real issues

I was called in to have a heart monitor and hope things go ok with this. I did not realise it was this bad, so was slightly taken aback. However, I feel good that they are being thorough. I find things pretty good overall and no real issues in the main. The phone system is good and reception attitude/response is much better than it used to be.
Waiting list switch
November 22, 2023
Overall, in the main things are satisfactory here. I have however had an issue since being changed to the 'less evasive' option around prostate issues. I was previously moving up a waiting list, they then changed it to me being on the less evasive pathway, and now I am back at bottom of the waiting list for that instead! I would have thought as it was their suggestion a direct transfer in system 'like for like'. No idea where I am with it now.
Varied experience

Have spoken to various clinicians. Once a paramedic told us to 'treat at home', when we knew it was serious. We took ourselves to A&E, who said that we should have been seen by a GP sooner. I have now seen a GP and as it is a constant issue, I did feel they could have just issued the anti-biotics. So when we felt we should be seen, we were not and when we felt they could just issue the meds without an appointment, we were seen!
