Felt very dismissed by my midwife at the hospital for the birth of my first baby so for my second baby I've decided to go to Ipswich.

Poor miscarriage experience

Maternity
August 12, 2021
My experience of having a miscarriage at the hospital was not good from scans through to the after care which wasn't done sensitively at all. I understand that covid has put extra pressures on but that doesn't mean that the way you are treated at a very difficult time should be done the way it was.

Out patients appointment today.

Outpatients
April 30, 2021
Just wanted to Complement you on a FIRST CLASS SERVICE today. I came for my six monthly routine follow up appointment . Upon arrival the bay for checking in was beautifully clean and well presented with all that was needed. The Out Patients Dept was spotless and well organised. I went straight through to see my Consultant, again everything was prepared and beautifully clean.
I saw my Consultant who as always was very pleasant even though she’s not doing the most envied job! She was chatty and uplifting in her comments.
Thank you for looking after me once again, your care is very much appreciated.

Quick referral

Good treatment received from the doctor I saw, he knew what the issue was and the referral was done quickly. Information between here and Addenbrookes has been very good and quick.

Thank you for leaving your comments, I am sorry that the lack of disabled spaces near to the day unit made it difficult for you, we are constantly reviewing the parking arrangements on site and I will forward your comments onto the appropriate team so they can be taken into consideration. If you need to visit in the future, if you take your blue badge to the general office and register it on our system this will allow you to park in a visitors car park for free and may be closer than a vacant disabled space. The general office is located in the main entrance foyer on the left hand side, opposite the reception desk. You only need to register your blue badge once and it will then be valid until it expires. You will need to reregister your badge. Many thanks.

Very poor quality of care

May 17, 2018
My partner was in hospital but on Christmas day we found him with no sheets on his bed and he had soiled himself. When we asked for nurses to help clean him up, we were told they were too busy but they would be back. We offered to do it but staff said no and that they would be back. It took over an hour for them to come back.

Looked after well

Maternity
January 30, 2018
The hospital looked after us well as my baby was very early and we had to go here as no 'special care' beds were available. The problem came when I got home with my baby, I felt that no one really followed up with a proper visit to the home. I expected a midwife/health visitor and did not get one until I rang the hospital. Communication between services was lacking.

good

The cancer treatment was first class, but delays to follow up treatment when you are on the ward because they are so busy.
Discharge from the hospital was delayed recently. Was in hospital for 5/6 hours awaiting discharge due to discharge letter not being written. At the front line service has always been great, especially at A & E
