Friendly ad approachable

January 7, 2019
I met my midwife for the first time and it was lovely to have such a friendly and approachable person. She was very reassuring, explained everything well and there was flexibility with the next appointment, although only on one day of the week, she was happy to fit around my other commitments.

Horrible

December 23, 2018
Every time I phone to make an appointment I'm made to feel bad as apparently they are so busy. I get told they will call me as will have to make me an extra appointment. Sorry I'm pregnant and need my routine appointment.
There is a total lack of communication somewhere along the line. I had a routine appointment I changed this. I attended but there was some concern's i was told I need to go back in a few days. They would text me at 8.30 am by 10.30 I still hadn't heard I called Bury they told me a note was given but she would text again. I waited all day & heard nothing at 3.45 I had a voicemail saying I had missed my routine appointment (the cancelled one) I tried to call back they shut at 3 pm so I've been left stressed out all weekend.

Appointment availabilty wasn't easy

November 16, 2018
I was seen through a transition period, I didn't see the same person but they were all very nice. Having appointments only on certain days wasn't great and it would be nice to be able to be seen on different days as it was difficult with work. The care I had in hospital was very good and I can't fault it.

Great continuity with my midwife before and after the birth of my baby. Appointment availability, care and advice has been very good.

Saw different midwives

November 13, 2018
I saw different midwives which wasn't great. One got my dates wrong and I didn't feel they always listened to me about a separate underlying condition. Other than that it wasn't too bad but it was my third child. My birth plan didn't go as we'd thought, they originally said they would induce me at 36 weeks but because of my other condition was settled they let me go over in the end. This did mean regular hospital visits for scans which made it more difficult.

Good advice

October 3, 2018
I feel that I've been given good advice and guidance so far from the midwife I've seen.It has been the same person for each of the appointments and they haven't felt rushed at all. There does seem to be a difference in the information provided by the midwives in the different CCG areas. The east provide a lot of information where as the west provide very little.

Continuity of carer

September 27, 2018
I did predominantly have the same midwife throughout my pregnancy, which was important to me and does make a difference as she was aware of me as a person and I did not have to keep repeating any issues.

Excellent care

During my pregnancy my midwife was really good. I wish I had seen her all the way throughout but due to holidays and sickness I did see others.

I received good support from my midwife, they ended up visiting weekly towards the end of the pregnancy which was very good.

Very good care received

August 8, 2018
I received very good care from my midwife and I saw the same person the whole way through which was nice. If additional appointments could be available on other days it would help as it can be difficult to attend on the set days. Overall I had a good experience with my first child too.
