Didn't acknowledge husband

October 3, 2022
The midwife I saw at the Thetford Healthy Living Centre wasn't great as she didn't even acknowledge my husband during the appointment. My current midwife at Stanton has been amazing. I find it odd that you can only access the Maternity Hub and speak to a midwife Mon-Fri. If it's out of hours you have to call 111. For any contact with a midwife you have to go through the hub so have to leave a message each time and then wait for the midwife to call you back. In Essex mums are given a timetable so you can see who to call on which days, something like that would really help.

Care and support great

The care and support given has been great. Its been wonderful to be able to call my midwife and discuss any issues but I do feel having a face to face is better. Had all my scans and appointments with midwife at Newmarket hospital.

Hartismere team great

August 1, 2022
Had great care and support from the friendly midwife I saw at Hartismere hospital. The only issue was that as I was with west suffolk hospital it was sometimes a bit disjointed as there were different procedures in place compared to Ipswich hospital. I did have one mistake which meant the blood test forms weren't filled in in the right way for west suffolk so I had to arrange a blood test for a second time.

The care and continuity I received from the community midwife based at East Bergholt was great, I really couldn't fault the support provided.

Not as supportive

I would've liked them to be more supportive rather than judging. When a different midwife got involved they tried to re do a referral that had already been stopped by another member of staff.

Limited support

Being my first baby I wasn't sure what to expect from the midwives but I found the support limited as you really only touch base with them.

The community midwives based at Hartismere Hopsital have been great, they offer wonderful support and I have been able to call her whenever I've needed advice, I really can 't fault the care provided.

Friendly

I found the community midwives to be friendly and they made sure that I had the number to call if I had any questions. I liked that they came to the house after the birth and I felt well supported.

Very supportive

I've been so well supported by my community midwife in Bury St Edmunds. She has provided all the information and support I've needed and has been really easy to get hold of when I've needed her. She has also been so flexible around my job.

Well supported

February 28, 2022
I had great care and was well supported by the midwives before the birth of my baby. Because I moved house during my pregnancy, stayed local, there was confusion which hospital I should being going to for the birth. In the end I decided to stay with Colchester rather than change hospital. Unfortunately, the day after the birth when a community midwife should've visited they didn't so I called them and they arranged for a midwife to come out. Being on the boarder and staying with my original hospital obviously caused some confusion but it was all sorted out.
