The pre op clinic 11 is excellent
General Surgery

The team were very good, efficient and made a potentially stressful situation easy. The clinic was spotlessly clean and the professional way they helped me through the procedures put me completely at ease. Many thanks to all.
Very professional and caring staff. X thanks X

Everyone involved in my care, this time tbh we’re respectful, kind and very helpful. For once, going to hospital, wasn’t as traumatic as it usually is! I think all staff need to be commended for being, kind, informative and very caring. Thank you so much.

I was taken to the hospital after being found out and considered drunk and disorderly, I was quite obviously going through a mental breakdown, which I had history of if my records were checked properly. I was isolated in a room where I continuously banged my head against the wall for at least 5-10 minutes before anyone came and helped me. I was then watched by two security guards, who continuously misgendered me purposefully even after I corrected them multiple times. They then laughed at me and told me that i was “a waste of time” and invalidated my mental health issues.
I was quite obviously very suicidal and was screaming to them that I just want to die and laughed at me, joking about the situation. I left in a very frail, unstable condition in hysterics.

A lovely nurse met us at the entrance to A&E and gave us the best advice for my daughter (suspected broken toe) to go home and how to manage at home. It saved us and A&E, a complete waste of an evening. Previously I had rang 111 and my GP (receptionist) who both advised us to go to A&E.
Care, support and treatment were great.

The treatment and care provided by the department has been brilliant. The doctor is really great with such a lovely bedside manner and is so caring. I really can't fault any of the care they have provided mum.

I had my pre-op but have heard nothing 2 weeks on. I have rung them 3 times and left a message to call me. Surely I will have to go in for another pre-op at this rate.

Told to go home when bleeding
Accident and emergency services

Attended A&E at Ipswich hospital. My wife had fallen down cut her Knee badly and had stones debris trapped in her knee and a large hole in her knee....I had blood over the front of my shorts and my wife had blood pooling in her shoe ....we were told abruptly to go home and come back tomorrow, the sister on the door would not even look at the injury to asses it...and made us feel like we were wasting their time for attending A&E.
I had to take my wife home open up the wound remove the stones and flush out the hole in her knee at home and dress it as best as I could...luckily I'm not squeamish...this could have been a really big problem for a 'sensitive' person. To cap off the experience a lady in front of us who had hurt her finger (no cut or blood) was allowed in to A&E with no fuss. I'm tall enough to see over the Covid curtains at the entrance to A&E and could see that there were only 3 people waiting in the waiting room at that specific time.
I'm sure there was a lot more going on in closed rooms but I would have expected to have had the wound assessed then told to go home if there wasn't any need for emergency treatment. Neither myself of my wife had consumed any alcohol we'd just been out walking our dog when the incident happened. I drove her to hospital to avoid calling an ambulance.
My wife went straight to the fractures clinic the next day and the treatment was 1st class. The only issue I have was with the attitude of the Sister on the door at A&E that night and the lack of any help at all on the night of the injury.
