Amazing nurse that listens

A nurse that gives you time, listens and treats you as an individual. So easy to speak with and very approachable.
Very difficult to make an appointment.

Both my parents with dementia and multiple health issues are patients of the practise. I emailed admin address with a question for a GP. After a few days of no reply i rang to be told the surgery cannot communicate via email. Told I need to make appointment to speak to GP. Told to ring at 8am and wait in the queue. I work Mon- Fri and the job i do means I cannot call at 8am. I find this policy of getting a non urgent appointment and method of communication to be very inflexible and discriminates against so many groups. There will be those with mental health issues that might not be awake at 8am , parents of children who need to get siblings to school and those working who cannot leave there positions to make a phone call.

The Dr was excellent today. He was brilliant with my son, a great attitude, down to earth and made us feel informed and involved. The reception staff were polite and welcomed us. The surgery was very clean and I liked the hard plastic chairs as they are much cleaner. The appointment time was good and despite being a little late, this was apologised for.

Rude, Condescending receptionist

I called to make an appointment (10/01/22) this morning and politely gave my name and address. When asked why I was calling I replied "I'd like to make an appointment" to which the receptionist groaned at me, sighed and said "right let's try that again. Why are you calling?"
The rudeness in her manner and tone is lost in written form, but it was such an unnecessary amount of condescending and bad attitude towards me for answering her question. What she apparently meant was "what is it that you need to see the doctor for?"
It is her responsibility, and profession, to ask questions clearly and also to not get pissy at someone's response to her questions when she asks them unclearly.

The nurse gave plenty of reassurance throughout. She explained everything and put me at ease. Overall a very positive experience.

A thankyou to the nurse from this practice. Had to have a few bits and bobs done and they made it so much better in these very stressful times. A big thank you on how professional you are.
Stoped consultants treatments to save money!

Despite having maintained relative good health with prescriptions for serious conditions and injuries for over 20 years upon moving to the area, GPs here had not heard of such a combination of prescriptions to maintain health. Despite explaining a team of specialist consultants had saved my life and worked out how I could maintain my health the GP decided to stop the prescriptions after ringing someone! A few weeks later as I thought, I had seizures and an ambulance ride to A&E! Local consultant confirmed on the QT not unusual to have interfering GP cause near deaths! Beware Gormless and prejudice GPs who appear to ignore known history when seeking to cut costs to hit money cut targets!
A good surgery

Its a good surgery and I have been with Cornard surgery for a while now, it is helpful to have other surgeries in the group if needed. It can be difficult getting through on the phone sometimes.
You can't hear the speaker system

Cornard seems to work well for me. If the need is urgent they are able to find you an appointment. Unfortunately you cannot hear the speaker tannoy system well at all which will have a negative impact on people with any hearing impairment.
