no review still

August 10, 2023
I have not had my COPD review in ages (last 2 years at least) Understand about Covid but it should have been done by now. Not had my annual health check either. I am going to flag these up whilst here today as encouraged by HWS to do so.

As a result I now have an appointment for the COPD review and they are getting in touch with me for the annual health check.

On time issue

August 10, 2023
Getting bloods done on time is a big issue since moving here. The paperwork isn't issued like it used to be at my previous surgery. Since being moved here, it has been a constant issue.

Being on medication that needs a 3-montly review and monitoring of levels or it can affect my mental health badly. The paperwork used to be posted to me, some said they can print it off and others say they cannot, so that is confusing.

Thanks to the CDO I have spoken to the clinician today to try and resolve this, and it apparently now has been all coordinated correctly. I will let HWS know if it has not!

Access ok

August 10, 2023
Can usually get in when needed with my mum who I care for. They have allocated us a GP that we can choose to see on the days they work, which helps due to the dementia. Access is ok and we feel looked after

Stressful not seeing same person

August 10, 2023
With ongoing conditions i'd prefer to see the same GP. Things have been stressful and seeing a different person who knows none of what is going on over the time you have been coming in about the same things (about 8 months now) it just is difficult as you have to explain everything as it is all relevant. They ask 'have you had this/that yet?' Well by the time you go through it you have barely much time left in the appointment time to make any progress on what you have previously covered. It makes sense that the same GP needs to see you on certain complex health issues. It helps us and surely it helps them. I fear time just goes on and we get no where fast mainly because of this issue.

Both sites are fine

August 10, 2023
We not use the surgery very much and it's been a long time since we saw any GP anywhere here, however today I am which I pleased about as feel it is a complex issue. Everyone is always pleasant, whoever you see from the front desk to the clinician. We walk-in or use the telephone as we are local and we do not have to wait too long on the phone, if it is, we walk in as we only ask for help when we need it. We do go to the other site (Alexandra road) and find that just as good as this site.

Online really good

August 10, 2023
find the online system really good for me, although wish the form was open outside of the surgery hours longer, as can be awkward to access when I am at work. It's good that you get the option for that day or not so urgent and you will get a call in a couple of days. I'd also like the option for a video call to save me time as I have to get into my car in my wheelchair to get here. it just is quite a rigmarole when it could easily be sorted with a video call. I cannot use Alexandra road easily due to access as there is no allocated parking, so you rely on being able to get a space with no one behind you. Again, a video would be fine if they want me to go here instead.

Efficient vaccination

December 23, 2021
Was left a message to make my choice of where I would like my vaccination 1st time, but had to go to a different site for my 2nd dose in Oulton Broad. All extremely efficient though.

Called on a Saturday

December 23, 2021
Got an appointment today. Initially we missed the ring back last week, but the GP called again on a Saturday afternoon and I was told to ring first thing on Monday. I did do that which took ages to get through. (It was explained that this is busiest time to call a surgery). In the end we did get through and being seen here as no appointments at Alexandra road which is closer to us. Pleased to be seen though

Not too long to wait

December 23, 2021
Called the surgery a couple of weeks ago and now I have to come back for a blood test in 2 weeks. As this is not particularly urgent I think that is a fair timescale of waiting.

Not been here long

November 19, 2019
Seeing GP today, but I rang 2 days on trot, 40 times today before I got onto the holding system.
I will register for online access to help I think
