GP Federation (Suffolk)

Suffolk GP Federation provides a range of NHS services to patients such as lymphoedema nursing, community based ultrasound, cardiology clinics and a diabetes service for North East Essex. We also run Suffolk GP+, which provides routine appointments for patients in the evenings, at weekends and Bank Holidays. We also manage several services in alliance with Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust, West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, Suffolk County Council and Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. These include podiatry, fracture prevention, bowel and bladder, stoma and the Felixstowe Minor Injuries Unit.

Very professional and thorough

November 14, 2019
Podiatry clinic Newmarket: They are very professional and thorough here and I find it very easy and straight forward to make the next appointment directly with the Podiatrist. I like both male Podiatrists that I have seen since coming along.

Podiatry clinic, Newmarket: The Podiatrist today was very nice and explained well to me about my condition of gout. I was very impressed with the service, I have seen two other Podiatrists and they all are nice.

Wasted GP Plus appointment

October 24, 2019
I made a GP plus appointment, but following advice from the care navigator on reception we went to the hospital as this would have been the most likely advice. In trying to cancel the GP plus appointment I was told to cancel it with the host surgery, who I contacted and was told it had to be cancelled with the surgery I made the appointment with initially (my surgery). I was then given the GP plus phone number by which time they were closed, this meant that the appointment for an out of normal hours service was wasted. Appointment made with Framfield medical centre and the appointment would have been hosted at Wickham Market surgery.

Podiatry team are 5*

GP federation podiatry team in Aldeburgh
Podiatry team are 5*
Ipswich pathology are 0
Foot scrapped by podiatrist to distinguish the fungus, sent to path lab. Only been told by the GPs it's a fungus, but we knew that already. There's a breakdown in communication somewhere.
I now have PALs number to try and chase further for information.

GP Fed podiatry - Aldeburgh
Outstanding service that I was reassessed for and continue to get.
Podiatrist is always lovely, chatty and communicates well with what is being done.
I cannot fault it.
Convenient location too.

Ultrasound service

December 20, 2018
I have now been for 2 ultrasounds at Wickham Market surgery. I am not really spoken to about what they are finding. Things seem a mystery at present. Hospital who have given me MRI's say that the scans are not always great, which does not instill much confidence.

My feet are checked every six months and the staff take great care of my feet. I get good information from them and they explain things really well.
