Having a ward just dedicated to elderly patients is amazing and reduces noise and people who do not understand dementia etc. It is good to keep this age group together.

Stroke Ward

A 9 week wait for contact after attending the Stroke Ward for the first time after a stroke, lady also had a fall and broke her wrist during this time.

Needed them a lot over the years the self service system is super efficient. Plus compared to other trusts the waiting times are very good my father and husband think it's great to have local outpatient services.
No physiotherapy on rehabilitation ward

Following a stroke due to staff leaving the service there was a lack of physiotherapy services for patients on the rehabilitation ward and patients were discharged home without having the opportunity to reach there full potential. Which meant patients were sent home unable to do anything for themselves e.g. go to the loo, make a hot drink etc. between Home Care visits,

I am undergoing physiotherapy after a major operation on my femur and hip. rob who is looking after me is as above, always encouraging me to do a little more each time I visit (weekly). the things that could be improved at Newmarket is that they could do with a bigger gym with more facilities, a Hydro pool would be good as well.
