I have a condition called corneal dystrophy and I went into Addenbrokes for have a double transplant, both eyes and it was a big success I am so pleased with the results. Good staff cannot say anything but positive things for them.
Okay
Accident and emergency services
November 6, 2024
After Covid I was told by my GP that I would need to be referred to audiology even though I've been wearing hearing aids for 40+ years.
Waited months
June 17, 2024
I waited months to be seen then had a short 10 minute consultation but wasn't offered any support or help so I've had to go private.
Supportive
Cancer services
May 23, 2024
My consultant explains things very well and the whole team are very supportive and provide brilliant care. They spent time with me looking at the different treatment options for the mouth cancer I have.
Cancellations
May 13, 2024
One of my appointments has been cancelled three times and the longer I wait the worse my symptoms are getting. Using My Chart works very well though.
Lack of information
April 25, 2024
Haven't found them to be overly proactive and there has been a lack of information about what operation I actually had as there were different options going in to the operation but they didn't explain what they actually did or what my actual injury was. Discharge notes were also quite limited.
Quick response

If I contact my son's consultant for advice they call back in 2 days at most and I feel that I can contact them if I have any concerns about his health and it's never too much trouble for them, they are great.
Amazing

Amazing ward nurses who provided wonderful care . The My Chart system is very good as all information is in one place and it is so much easier to have information that way, I don't know why it's not used else where.
Not allowed to accompany a family member
August 29, 2023
I arrived at A&E with a family member and dropped them off and then went to park but when I tried to go in to A&E the security guards said I wasn't allowed in and wouldn't even let me tell my family member that I was having to go home.
Needed person to talk to after my trauma
Nephrology
August 24, 2023
I had a procedure on my kidney several years ago which because of the severity of it caused me mental trauma and as a result I went through a lengthy period of time when I was thinking about things that I couldnt talk to anyone about at the time. I simply needed someone from the NHS to listen to me who was non judging at the time and to let me know that I would get through it, I know that would have been so helpful to me. I had my husband and he did help me but if there had been someone accessible to me to talk with that would have been very helpful.
