Very good surgery

February 22, 2024
I think they are well organised, they prove that in the way they organise the flu and covid vaccinations, they stick to times and dont cancel, was a very quick moving queue on the day. They also give warnings of possible parking issues.

Prompt, kind and fantastic service

January 25, 2024
I filled in the online form at 08:00 and was contacted at 08:45 by a kind member of reception staff who said the doctor had arranged an appointment for 09:15.

I had my appointment with a fantastic Practice Paramedic who was kind and very reassuring.

Thank you to everyone that was involved in this process, I am very grateful. In these challenging times for healthcare it is very easy to criticise but I have always been very impressed by the care I have received over the years from all staff at Needham Market Country Practice.

GPs that listen and believe their patients

January 9, 2024
I have never met so many doctors in one place who actually take the time to listen, believe their patients and support them towards good health. I fought for 10 years to get a diagnosis via other GP surgeries who labelled me as bitchy, needy and hypochondriac. Within 2 years of being registered at Needham Market Country Practice, I was diagnosed with all conditions I suspected I had and have been supported throughout. My health had declined hugely just before changing to this surgery and without Needham Market GPs I can for sure say I would not be in the good health I am now.

Used Accurx

November 22, 2023
In the past I have used E-Consult, which is pretty long winded. The surgery seem to be trialling Accurx and I found it much better. The first time I used it, I had phone call from my GP. Referral was made and new prescription was allocated. I do however, still feel that in relation to menopause, you do not have a proper explorative conversation.
The second time I used it, it was an admin request. The good thing was that although the system was not in use for appointment requests, it still enabled me to put in an admin request. With E-Consult if it was switched off you could not access anything, so I think this system is much better.

Very busy phones

November 3, 2023
The phones are particularly busy and there are long waits before you get through. Staff aren't always particularly helpful and this can be frustrating, however to arrange a blood test has been fine.

Alright

November 3, 2023
It's noticable that they are under pressure but it only took 15 mins to get a call back toady. I felt I was listened to and was then given a time to come in to the surgery for an appointment. I'm happy with how it all works.

Long waits

November 3, 2023
The appointment system in place does mean waits of up to an hour to get through and then you have to wait again for the doctor to call you back. Some of the time I've been given a face to face appointment but a lot of the time its all done by phone. Econsult is a better option as you can submit it before going to work but the responses are character limited so you can't always put down everything needed, plus the system does often throw you out and say call anyway. I found my last experience when having a conversation on the phone was dismissive and frustrating as I didn't feel well listened to but today doing an e-consult for an ongoing issue has worked well.

Wait on the phone to get through

November 3, 2023
Had a half hour wait on the phone to get through this morning and then got cut off and when I called back it happened a second time when I was talking to reception but they did call me back. I've had no issues arranging appointments by speaking to the reception team so actually for me it's been ok. The last four appointments have been similar to today and I've been able to get appointments when needed.

Excellent

I really can't fault the care the surgery provide for my asthmatic children. We are here regularly and it works so well to get the appointments for them when they are needed.

Fine to get regular appointments

November 3, 2023
I have 3 monthly b12 injections and I have no issues arranging the appointments for these. I am reliant on friends to get me to my appointments so being invited in on the day to see the doctor is more difficult but the econsult process and quick phone calls back have been good. More recently following a chat on the phone I was referred to hospital really quickly by the GP which was brilliant and I really can't fault how they listened to me and then reacted.
