Busy phones

January 27, 2025
Fine but can take an hour to get through on the phone. I've not really got the confidence to use the call back system as I'm unsure whether it will work. At times there have been no appointments left so the suggestion has been to call 111 so I've gone up to the hospital to see a GP instead. Once in there are no problems but waiting on the phone is difficult.

Good care

It is slightly better than last year. The online system is slightly better to use and paramedics have been great on two occasions and care is good it's just getting in for appointments that can be difficult.

Long phone queues

January 21, 2025
Very long queues on the phone. I asked for an appointment but then got a message relayed by reception rather than speaking to or seeing a doctor. I needed a doppler scan and it has been cancelled 4 times.

Prescription not authorised

January 17, 2025
What a pleasure it was to talk to a person on reception as she listened to my enquiry about a prescription. She then said she would get it sorted out. A few minutes later she called me back and told me the prescription was in the pharmacy and could be collected tomorrow. It is so good to see someone take ownership of a problem and sort it out for you. Thank you.

The phones are very busy and you can end up waiting a long time to get through and then can only get a call back from them.

Limited appointments

It does feel that they only want to talk to you on the phone and that appointments with doctor are limited.

Assumption people are all online

January 13, 2025
If you don't use online systems it's much more difficult to get an appointment. Calling takes a long time and then most issues are dealt with by phone. There is the assumption that everyone is online and able to use these systems when we can't.

Communication is poor with patient

December 23, 2024
I do not like to have to tell the first person on the phone about my medical issues. I can often be on the phone for ages just to get through. I dont know if I am on the waiting list for treatment or not for physio, my doctor referred me but I feel stuck in no mans land, they need to be clearer with communication.

They only like you to contact on phone

December 23, 2024
They wiil keep on asking me to have my blood tests done at Landseer Road clinic but I keep saying to them that because of my age and driving ability I need it done at the surgery, but they do not like me going up to talk with them face to face, they tell me conversations are to be done over the phone.

Hard for people with hearing loss

December 23, 2024
I do not think that this surgery makes any allowances for people who have hearing difficulties. My experience is the staff say to me I have to ring up on the phone but I have tried to explain that I cannot hear well at all when using the phone, so the only way for me is that I have to agree to struggle with the appointment on the phone. I find this aspect very difficult and I feel that I need a face to face appointment but I find that it is simply not available to me.
